About Us
Our Story
Over thirty years ago in Midland, Texas, the idea for Rebuilding Together was born. Known then as Christmas in April, Rebuilding Together supported single women in their community by providing minor home repairs. It has since grown to facilitate home repairs to thousands of low-income homeowners year-round.
Robert Moisan established the North Texas affiliate of Rebuilding Together in 2001 after he saw the great need in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.
As a 501(c)(3), Rebuilding Together North Texas restores hope and revitalizes neighborhoods by bringing volunteers and communities together to repair homes and rebuild the lives of low-income homeowners. We enhance the safety, health, and quality of life for veterans, veteran widows, seniors, families with minor children, and people with disabilities by providing free home repair using volunteers and professionals throughout North Texas. Together we are strengthening the Denton, Dallas, Tarrant, Collin, and Rockwall counties to build a brighter future for North Texas.
As a national organization, Rebuilding Together is a leading nonprofit in safe and healthy housing. Across the country, Rebuilding Together’s affiliates and nearly 100,000 volunteers complete about 10,000 rebuild projects each year.
